In early 1980’s Philippine Government through Commission on Higher Education recognized an education program in the Respiratory Therapy. Mary Chiles College established the first curriculum for students who undergo academic preparation through a two-year course leading to Associate in Respiratory Therapy. Manila Doctor's College and Emilio Aguinaldo College followed this immediately. In 1987, four year baccalaureate course in Respiratory Therapy was started at the University of Perpetual Help System in Laguna, followed by Emilio Aguinaldo College offered a similar program in 1991. There are some Colleges open the same program in the Northern Luzon such as Pines College and Zamboanga University at the Southern part of the Philippines. Most of the students who graduated in this education program have been successful, not only in the Philippines but in other country, most of the graduates went abroad to perform their profession. |
